RFC2022.10: ET Chair to address at the upcoming WMO ET-SWx meeting (19-21 Oct 2022) the need of identifying the key space weather systems that need to be protected, which should allow narrowing the WRC-23 AI 9.1 Topic a) down to a more reasonable number of space weather sensor types (i.e. the data that feeds into space weather predictions and warnings) as well as address a broader issue of harmonization of ground-based and space-based space weather observing systems to work on the best practices on defining the instrumentation types and associated frequencies that should be used for operational services.
