The fast-track 2025-1 proposal includes the following amendments: 

• WIGOS Metadata Codes have three new territories and a new observed variable for Schumann Resonances. This proposal introduces the retirement of legacy data policy codes that are no longer in force after the publication of the WMO Unified Data Policy[1]. It also proposes significant revisions to the application area code list managed by the Standing Committee on Earth Observing Systems and Monitoring Networks (SC-ON) / Expert Team on Earth Observing System Design and Evolution. The relevant teams and experts under SC-ON and managers of OSCAR/Surface have been consulted during the development of these proposals to ensure that there is minimal disruption.
