Lectures presented at the WMO Technical Conference on observation and measurements of atmospheric contaminants TECOMAC
Authors: WMO Technical Conference on observation and measurements of atmospheric contaminants TECOMAC, World Meteorological Organization (WMO)
This Conference was the fourth of its kind and followed the previous three held, successively, in Helsinki, Finland (July 1973), Gothenburg, Sweden (October 1976) and Boulder, Colorado, USA (August 1979). All four conferences generally addressed issues related to the WMO activities on monitoring and research on background atmospheric pollution (BAPMoN). But whereas the Helsinki and Gothenburg Conferences had dealt with measurement, observation, networks and standards, and the Boulder conference had, in addition, emphasized data analysis, TECOMAC primarily sought to establish the current state of knowledge and understanding of those man-induced and natural chemical and physical parameters (and their expected future developments) that can influence climate and environmental qualities.
