Early Career Professionals (ECP)

Definition: An Early Career Professional (ECP) is a scientist who is in the initial stages of their career, typically within 8 years of their latest degree (BSC, MSc, PhD), excluding any career breaks for reasons such as family care, health, or other personal circumstances. ECPs are transitioning to or have recently moved into fully independent roles as researchers, investigators, faculty members, or scientific team leaders across overarching industries. Current full-time students are ECPs. ECP status recognizes the diversity of career pathways, including the challenges related to gender, culture, and socio-economic background in career advancement.
