Purpose
Contribute to the WHOS implementation in the Region with a focus on Area Nr 4 –Hydrology Observation's network, data exchange / WHOS regional implementation, forecasting and service delivery, of RA VI Work Plan 2018-2021
Functions
In collaboration with the relevant bodies, including the global data centers, regional WIGOS centers, and the regional training centres, WIS and WIGOS Task Teams of RA VI, the Hydrological Advisers, NFPs on WHOS (as soon as nominated by the WMO Member States)
Coordination of the test cases on 4 basins: Sava, Danube, Rhine, Arctic
Conduction of training events on data sharing and standardization, as needed, based on training material elaborated for WHOS
Communication and outreach, through the WMO Community of Practice, Regional Newsletter: Promotion of WHOS, Exchange of information on the needs and gaps in hydrological data collection, measuring technology, data interpretation tools and hydrological information systems that could be addressed by the HydroHub, Encourage the Member States, through the NFPs, develop technologies to include their information into WIS and provide facilities provided to insert daily information into the OSCAR.
Support the developments of products related to the Hydrological Status and Outlook System - HydroSOS – as appropriate (Res.9)
Report to the RA VI WG on Infrastructure on the status of activities and plans
Timeframe: Initial timeframe is 2021-2022 till the implementation of the leading test cases
Meetings: Mostly remotely, as often as needed; Physical meetings or missions to be considered according to the work plan of the Team
