Terms of Reference
The Expert Team on WMO Integrated Observing Systems (ET-WIGOS) will work under the guidance of the C-INF, in cooperation and collaboration with the relevant bodies, according to the following terms of reference.
(1) Advise C-INF to develop necessary activities in the Region to support the implementation of the Global Basic Observing Network (GBON) and the Regional Basic Observing Network (RBON);
(2) Provide guidance to RA III countries for the national implementation of WIGOS;
(3) Work in coordination with the WIGOS Regional Centres (CRWs) to establish strategic alliances to strengthen them. Support and advise the Infrastructure Committee with respect to activities related to Observing Systems and Infrastructure;
(4) Identify capacity building needs of RA III members for the implementation of WIGOS at national and regional level, propose and implement WIGOS projects and related activities;
(5) Provide technical assistance, through the CRWs, to Members in the use of WMO platforms, such as the WIGOS Data Quality Monitoring System (WDQMS), the Observing Systems Capability Analysis and Review Tool (OSCAR) and the Incident Management System (IMS), to improve their data quality and exchange conditions;
(6) Assist in the implementation of products developed in the framework of regional projects.
