Purpose: Under the direction of the Chair of SC-WIPPS, the TT will work on selected set of the task of the G3W Implementation plan related to operational modelling. The work will be performed in collaboration with the relevant bodies under Infrastructure Commissions, specifically TT-G3W-networks and TT-G3W-data, and with the inputs from the research community (e.g. the Global Atmosphere Watch) and partner organizations. These ToRs will be reviewed after the fourth session of the INFCOM.

Specific tasks include:
• Define characteristics and document of the mandatory and recommended G3W products produced by G3W centres and lead centres;
• Define and document characteristics of the G3W modelling systems;
• Define and document core and complementary functions of the G3W centres and lead centres.
• Update WIPPS Manual with the characteristics of the data products, modelling systems and centres functions.
• Document comparison and verification protocols including deliverables and methodology.
• Support TT-G3W-Networks in conducting network design experiments.
• Following the established review process for WIPPS Designated Centres’ compliance, conduct a risk assessment and develop Self-Assessment Questionnaires based on the functions and products of the new WIPPS activities, which can serve as both the application form for centres' designation and for the compliance review of the designated centres.
• Report on the activities of the TT to SC-WIPPS and AG-G3W.

Required expertise
• Task Team will be comprised of experts representing WMO Regions and covering required expertise in operational greenhouse gas modelling across diverse modelling systems.

Deliverables
• Draft amendments to the Manual on WIPPS (WMO-No.485) regarding G3W-related WIPPS activities.
• Draft text of the Guide to WIPPS (WMO-No.305) regarding recommended methods and protocols for the quality control and verification.
