The Expert Team on Regional Weather, Climate and Hydrological Modelling (ET-WIPPS) will work under the guidance of the C-INF, in cooperation and collaboration with the relevant bodies, according to the following terms of reference.
(1) Review and update the needs and requirements of RA III countries with respect to numerical forecasting and the WMO Integrated Processing and Prediction System (WIPPS);
(2) Develop functions related to the planning, implementation and evaluation of technical programme activities related to the operational implementation of regional numerical atmospheric and hydrological models in the region;
(3) Assess and advise on regional-scale constraints and solutions to meet user needs for numerical analysis and atmospheric prediction products for all disciplines including hydrology, with special emphasis on severe event forecasting;
(4) Support and enhance the capabilities of all RA III countries to benefit from impact-based probabilistic products and historical data, including the results of model analysis and reanalysis;
(5) Support data-related implementation of analysis, modelling, prediction, and projection, including data exchange of numerical prediction model results;
(6) Assist in the implementation of products developed in the framework of regional projects
