ToR for the Focal Point on Satellite Data Requirements (FP-SDR)

(1) Ensure coordination with WMO space programmes (and specifically with satellite data requirements) and data needs of RA III committees, considering regional priorities and research needs;
(2) Collaborate with the “ad-hoc” Coordination Group on Satellite Data Requirements for RA III and RA IV (SDR Group) considering the terms of reference of the group: sdr.ucr.ac.cr/terms-of-reference;
(3) Represent the SDR Group in WIGOS Expert Team meetings, reporting on its activities;
(4) Participate, in an active way, in the meetings that require his/her presence in the region (virtual and face-to-face) and in the consultations, according to the agreements taken by the Chair of ET-WIGOS;
(5) Provide technical inputs for the preparation of strategies, programmes, plans, documents, reports, proposals for action, projects, etc., required by ET-WIGOS;
(6) Carry out monitoring, follow-up and evaluation of the plans and programmes of the Regional Initiatives in their area of work;
(7) Report on the progress of the activities carried out in the SDR Group and ensure that they are related to the RA III programmes;
(8) Interact smoothly with the C-INF for the implementation of all components of the plans and programmes of the Initiative or of interest to the Region;
(9) Organize relevant training activities and workshops for members of the region to learn about the work plans of the SDR Group;
(10) Position the Regional initiatives in the plans of the SDR Group and in integration spaces and international forums.
