Terms of Reference
ToR for Expert Team on Disaster Risk Reduction Services (ET-DRR)
(1) Promote the establishment of multi-hazard early warning systems, procedures and associated coordination mechanisms at regional and national levels to reduce loss and damage caused by weather, climate, hydrological and related environmental hazards and disasters, and assist Members in close collaboration with the SC-DRR;
(2) Assist Members to improve their capacity to deliver services and facilitate effective implementation and compliance through the development of cooperative and supportive frameworks, such as the WMO Coordination Mechanism (WCM) to assist with humanitarian action;
(3) Provide technical assistance and capacity building to Members so that they are better able to integrate the DRR framework through joint analysis of hazard, population vulnerability and exposure components;
(4) Promote cooperation and partnership with other external partners in the region linked to Disaster Risk Reduction;
(5) Assist in the implementation of products developed in the framework of regional projects;
(6) Promote capacity building in Business Continuity Management (BCM), in coordination with the Regional Training Centres.
