Terms of Reference
ToR for the Expert Team on Services for Agricultura (ET-AGR)
(1) Promote the development of activities that strengthen the four components of the Early Warning System for All (EW4All), prioritizing early warnings in the face of agricultural droughts;
(2) Promote the strengthening of monitoring systems for extreme weather events, with attention to droughts and frosts in the NMHSs of the region, in order to be able to provide an adequate service to the needs of the agricultural sector;
(3) Disseminate WMO guidelines on the elaboration of agrometeorological bulletins and pilot prototypes of digital agricultural warnings to be considered in the dissemination products to be developed by the NMHSs;
(4) Encourage the development of studies and research regarding the effects of climate change on the agricultural suitability of food security crops, and list resilient varieties;
(5) Promote the exchange of knowledge among agro-meteorological experts in the Region;
(6) Assist in the implementation of products developed in the framework of regional projects.
