Lina Rodriguez

Associate Scientific Officer


Lina Rodriguez is an Associate Scientific Officer for the World Weather Research Programme at WMO. Lina has experience in different realities ranging from universities, the private sector, international and local organizations, as well as climate youth associations.

Lina is an Economist and an Environmental Scientists with a specialization in climate impacts and local-level adaptation to meteorological extremes. Lina has experience in project management, research development and scientific communication.

Lina’s responsibilities for the WWRP include coordinating the work of the Societal and Economic Research Applications (SERA) Working Group and the WWRP work on local knowledge and Indigenous knowledge. She supports the Paris Olympics 2024 Research Development Project and leads the science communication of the programme. Lina is also the focal point of WWRP for the Young Earth System Scientists community (YESS), with whom she develops initiatives with early and mid-career scientists.
