CREWS/SWFP – Central Africa- Training Workshops on Severe Weather and Nowcasting (Yaounde, 30 June - 11 July 2025)
WMO in collaboration with DMN (Direction de la Météorologie Nationale) Cameroon and with support from the CREWS initiative funded projects for West and Central Africa is organizing the following two training workshops in Yaounde:
- CREWS/SWFP- Central Africa Synoptic Training on Short- and Medium-Range Forecasting and Developing Regional Guidance Products (30 June -4 July 2025)
- CREWS/SWFP- Central Africa Training on Nowcasting Tools and Products (7-11 July 2025)
The training workshops will mainly address capacity development needs of operational forecasters at DMN Cameroon (which is expected to host regional forecast support centre for SWFP-Central Africa) aiming to enhance DMN's capacity in the development of Severe Weather Nowcasting and Forecasting Guidance Products to the NMHSs of countries involved in SWFP-Central Africa.
