International Workshop on Atmospheric Chemistry and Agricultural Meteorology

International Workshop on Atmospheric Chemistry and Agricultural Meteorology

Pune, India

2-4 November 2015

Background

To assess the effects of agriculture on atmospheric composition and vice versa, flux and concentration measurements, modelling and assessment techniques have been developed. However, there is still a need to improve and harmonize these and build up regional networks with consistent quality standards and data management strategies. The field of micrometeorology combines the knowledge of the atmospheric chemistry and biological processes in order to determine the impact of changing atmospheric and climate on vegetative systems.  Coordination between all of these scientific fields of study is needed in order to ensure that the correct instrumentation, monitoring and data quality control measures are in place and are consistent from field to field and country to country.
