The Fourth Session of the CBS Inter-Programme Expert Team on Observing System Design and Evolution (IPET-OSDE) will take place in Geneva from 12 to 13 December 2019.

The purpose of the IPET-OSDE meeting will essentially be to:

  • Review those Statements of Guidance, which will have been updated by the time of the meeting
  • Address whatever recommendation will arise from the Scoping Workshop on Future Activities to Assess Impact of Various Observing Systems on Earth System Prediction (Geneva, 9-11 December 2019).
  • Refine the plan for developing an implementation plan for WIGOS component observing systems in response to WIGOS Vision 2040 (with possibly a draft Infrastructure Commission Decision to be submitted).
  • Agree on what will have to be submitted to the first Session of the Infrastructure Commission from IPET-OSDE perspective.
