The WMO PTC/GCC Workshop on Impact-based Forecast and Warning Services (IBFWS)
The WMO PTC/GCC Workshop on Impact-based Forecast and Warning Services (IBFWS) will be hosted in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman during 05-09 November, 2023.
The workshop will address capacity development needs of operational forecasters from the National Meteorological and Hydrological Services (NMHSs) of PTC/GCC participating countries including: Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Yemen. Additionally, NMHSs of Bangladesh, India, Iran, Maldives, Myanmar, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Thailand are also invited to benefit from the training workshop and to consider their potential engagement in IBFWS as appropriate and feasible in support of UN Early Warnings for All (EW4ALL) initiative.
