Workshop on Calibration and Maintenance of Meteorological Instruments for RA-I
The Directorate General of Meteorology of Morocco (DGM) and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) will organize a Workshop on Calibration and Maintenance of Meteorological Instruments for Members of WMO Regional Association I. he training workshop is aimed at French-speaking countries in Regional Association I (Africa) and will be held in Casablanca (Morocco) at the Casablanca Regional Instrument Centre (RIC Casablanca), from 20 to 24 November 2023.
The course will be given in French and is designed to help participants master the tools involved in calibrating measuring instruments (thermometers, barometers, hygrometers, rain gauges/pyranometers), master the vocabulary of metrology and understand the principles of measurement uncertainty. It will enable participants to learn how to work in the laboratory to control environmental conditions and to implement a laboratory equipment management approach and an equipment handling procedure
Annex I contains the preliminary programme for the course, which will last four days and will comprise of theoretical lessons, given in a classroom, and practical activities, which will take place in the RIC Casablanca laboratories.
