Collaborating for Climate-Resilient Inland Transport: WMO Regional Association VI (Europe) and UNECE working together
The WMO Regional Office was invited to participate in the meeting of the UNECE Group of Experts on Assessment of Climate Change Impacts and Adaptation for Inland Transport with a brief presentation of the 2021 State of Climate in Europe report's key messages for policy actions for adaptation and mitigation.
The UNECE Group of Experts on Assessment of Climate Change Impacts and Adaptation for Inland Transport brings together experts from various countries and organizations.
WMO Regional Association VI was represented by Dr Andrew Ferrone, Meteorological Service, Administration of Agricultural Technical Services, Ministry of Agriculture, Viticulture and Rural Development of the Government of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Dr Ferrone is one of the lead authors, who led the impact and policy actions parts of the report.
Looking forward to collaborating with UNECE, WMO Regional Office for Europe expressed its commitment to further collaborate and support the UNECE's efforts in the field of climate-resilient inland transport, adaptation and mitigation measures, and the development and establishment of an early warning system.
