Exploring the possibilities of Artificial Intelligence in the areas of water, weather and climate

The globe has experienced an amazing technological revolution in the last 20 years. The application of Artificial Intelligence in the areas of water, weather, and climate observations, modeling, and services creation has heralded the beginning of a new age, as experienced by the WMO expert community.

The introduction of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into our field has the potential to fundamentally alter how we comprehend and respond to the intricate problems associated with weather and climate. AI-driven technologies give us previously unheard-of skills to process enormous volumes of data, extract insightful knowledge, and improve our predictive models. The application of Artificial Intelligence in our field is still in its infancy, and the next decade promises even more transformative developments.

Together, we can harness the power of AI to drive innovation, enhance resilience, and deliver better services to our communities and stakeholders. Representatives from the public, private, and academic sectors gathered for a meeting to discuss the most recent advancements in the area.
