Conjoint 6th WMO VAAC Best Practices Workshop (VAAC BP/6) and 8th WMO/IUGG Volcanic Ash Scientific Advisory Group Meeting (VASAG/8)

A conjoint sixth Volcanic Ash Advisory Centre Best Practices Workshop and eighth Volcanic Ash Scientific Advisory Group Meeting was held at the Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand (CAA NZ) and Meteorological Service of New Zealand Ltd. (MetService) in Wellington from 5 to 9 November 2018.
This conjoint event was held immediately prior to back-to-back meetings of the ICAO Meteorology Panel WG-MOG (IAVW) and WG-MISD (VASD) from 12 to 14 November 2018 at CAA NZ.

Preceding the sixteenth session of the WMO Commission for Aeronautical Meteorology (CAeM-16), the Commission convened a one-day Technical Conference (TECO) on 23 July 2018 entitled "The future is now: Meteorology enabling aviation decision support".

WMO/UK Met Office Aviation Seminar

The annual WMO/UK Met Office Aviation Seminar will be hosted this year by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in New Delhi, India, from Monday 13 to Friday 17 November 2017.
The aim of the seminar is to provide training, guidance and practical examples of several key aspects of meteorology and forecasting for Aviation, to support forecasters in this specialized area. This year’s seminar will focus on the topics of Aviation Hazards and SIGMETs.

The seventh meeting of the WMO/IUGG Volcanic Ash Scientific Advisory Group (VASAG-7) was held at the David A. Johnston Cascades Volcano Observatory, 1300 SE Cardinal Court, Bldg 10, Suite 100, Vancouver, WA, USA, from 21 to 23 August 2017.
This meeting followed the IAVCEI-2017 meeting held in Portland, OR, USA, from 14 to 18 August 2017.
