Further to the previous announcement here, WMO is pleased to announce that a summary of the 2023 edition of the Aeronautical Meteorology Scientific web-based seminars ('webinars'), held on 5, 6 and 7 December 2023, is now available here.
The webinar was conducted across all WMO regions, through three sessions (multiple time zones), each consisting of two hours of pre-recorded presentations and a one-hour live panel discussion.
The summary includes short abstracts of all presentations and a summary of the salient points arising from each of the three live panel discussions. The summary can also be found under each webinar session webpage:
RAs II & V | RAs I & VI | RAs III & IV
This 2023 edition of the webinars addressed turbulence and airframe icing related issues, whereas the 2022 edition was about significant convection and associated hazards. The summary of the 2022 edition of the webinars can be found here.
Outcomes of the 2022 and 2023 webinars will serve as a basis for the design of the Aeronautical Meteorology Scientific conference (AeroMetSci-2024) programme from a scientific and technological perspective aiming at prioritizing recommendations for the future development of the science of aeronautical meteorology.
