Revision of the IG3IS urban good practices
IG3IS works towards establishment of good practices allowing for improved evaluation of greenhouse gas emissions and uptakes on decision relevant scales. In 2022, IG3IS released the first version of the IG3IS Urban Greenhouse Gas Emission Observation and Monitoring Good Research Practice Guidelines. These good practice guidelines require regular revision to reflect new developments in science and technology, and better elucidate the links between the scientific practices and implementation and use by policymakers and other stakeholders.
The review and update of the good practice guidelines is now underway.
- A small group of lead authors for the document have produced a working draft of the revised main document.
- An online workshop is being held to discuss the process for updating and revising the technical components of the document with all authors, contributing authors, and interested parties.
Draft of the version 2 main document is here.
Draft of the version 2 Extended Technical Discussions is here.
The online workshop will be conducted in two sessions, to allow for participation of experts in different time zones.
· First session: 12 June 2024 from 22:00 to 24:00 CEST (recording is available here)
· Second session: 18 June 2024 from 6:00 to 8:00 CEST (recording is available here).
