SWFP–Caribbean Operational Workshop
The SWFP–Caribbean Operational Workshop is organized remotely online during 21-23 August 2025 by the Caribbean Institute for Meteorology and Hydrology (CIMH) (also WMO Regional Training Centre (RTC)) in collaboration with the Caribbean Meteorological Organization (CMO) Headquarters Unit, Regional Forecast Support Facility (RFSF) Martinique, Regional Specialized Meteorological Centre (RSMC) Miami and the World Meteorological Centre (WMC) Montreal. The workshop is supported with funding from CCRIF SPC and Climate Risk and Early Warning Systems (CREWS) funded project for the Caribbean (CREWS Caribbean 2.0).
The virtual workshop aims to train the operational forecasters from the participating countries and territories in the subregion on interpretation and use of the available global and regional NWP information and guidance products (as accessible through RFSF Martinique Extranet (SWFP web portal) and available from the relevant WMCs) for improved severe weather forecasting and early warning services including communication with users at national and local levels.
