Procedures for transferring data files to the WMO Secretariat:

Advanced Notifications (AN)

Each responsible RTH should send Advanced Notifications (ANs) to the WMO Secretariat by SSH File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) to the WMO server when amendments on the bulletins generated in its responsible zone are confirmed. In addition to the transmission to the SFTP server, an e-mail should be sent to the WMO Secretariat (wis@wmo.int) to notify the update.

To upload the ANs to the WMO Server

  • The host (sftp.wis.wmo.int) will only be available to the responsible RTH using a unique user ID and password. 
  • Contact the WMO Secretariat for access.

Archive:
Files are stored on the WMO FTP server using the following structure:
"/...(sub-directories).../CCCC/yyyy/AN/ (file name)"
Example: "/.../LIIB/2021/AN/LI03615O.txt"
