Focal Points for WIS IT Security MattersNational or territory Lead focal points for WIS IT security matters are nominated by the Permanent Representatives of Members of WMO. Heads of authorized non-governmental organizations (NGO) contributing to WIS may also nominate a focal point on WIS IT security matters.These focal points provide the operational channel of communication with the WMO (secretariat) IT Security Focal Point  and GISC IT Security Focal Points.( )(1)The terms of reference for the lead WIS IT Security Focal point are:(i)  To act as a focal point on all WIS IT security matters within the Member State, territory or NGO;(ii) To receive notifications of amendments to the Guide to Information Technology Security (WMO-No. 1115) and associated procedures and guidance, and propagate the information within the WIS IT Security focal points;(iii)  To comment on amendments to WIS IT Security as defined in the Guide to Information Technology Security (WMO-No. 1115) and associated procedures and guidance by the fast-track procedure, on behalf of the WMO Secretariat;(iv)  To request amendments to the Guide to Information Technology Security (WMO-No. 1115) and associated procedures and guidance concerning WIS IT Security on behalf of the WMO Secretariat;(v)  To communicate with the WMO IT Security Focal Point (WMO Secretariat) and GISC IT Security Focal Points on behalf of the WMO on issues relating to WIS IT Security;(vi)  To assist WIS IT Security focal points within GISCs to prepare and carry out functions related to WIS IT Security;(vii) To coordinate WIS IT Security matters with the WIS Centers from the Member state;(viii) To receive notifications of WIS IT Security incidents, informational items, and other relevant information from GISC IT Security Focal Points, as per established protocols;(ix) To disseminate notifications of WIS IT Security incidents, informational items, and other relevant information from GISC IT Security Focal Points GISCs, as per established protocols;(x) To act as a central coordinating contact during a WIS IT Security incident by managing communications between the WMO IT Security Focal Point (WMO Secretariat), affected (or potentially affected) centres and other non-affected centres;(xi) To provide 24/7 capability for the delivery if WIS IT Security functions (or delegate to an existing 24/7 operation).( )(2) WMO Focal Point for WIS IT Security Matters: ( ) The Focal Point for WIS IT Security Matters within WMO secretariat is nominated by WMO Secretariat (this is not a national role). This focal point provides the operational channel of communication between Lead WIS IT Security Focal points and GISC WIS IT Security focal points.( ) In addition to their Secretariat role, the terms of reference for the WMO WIS IT Security Focal Point are:(i) To communicate with the WMO Secretariat and WIS IT Security focal points within GISCs on behalf of the WMO on issues relating to WIS IT Security;(ii) To assist WIS IT Security focal points within GISCs to prepare and carry out functions related to WIS IT Security;(iii) To receive notifications of WIS IT Security incidents, informational items, and other relevant information from WIS IT Security focal points within GISCs, as per established protocols;(iv) To disseminate notifications of WIS IT Security incidents, informational items, and other relevant information from WIS IT Security focal points within GISCs, as per established protocols;(v) To act as a central coordinating contact during a WIS IT Security incident by managing communications between the affected (or potentially affected) centres and other non-affected centres;(vi) To provide a 24/7 capability for the delivery of the WMO WIS IT Security Focal Point service described in Appendix E of the Guide to WIS;(vii) To maintain the list of contact details  for WIS-related
