Terms of Reference

(a) To support the development and implementation of the RA V Hydrological Action Plan and the Quality Management Framework for Hydrology in RA V;
(b) To assess the needs of RA V Members on hydrological forecasting and water resources management;
(c) To support Members in strengthening their capacity on the use of software/tools/products on hydrological forecasting and early warning, water resources assessment/management as needed to reduce the risk of water-related disasters;
(d) To promote and guide Members with the implementation of the Outlook component of the WMO Global Hydrological Status and Outlook Systems (HydroSOS);
(e) To promote the use of the Associated Programme on Flood Management (APFM) and Integrated Drought Management Programme (IDMP) HelpDesk among RA V Members for the development of extrabudgetary projects, capacity-development and knowledge sharing activities;
(f) To develop case studies on the application of the Common Alerting Protocol (CAP) to hydrological hazards;
(g) To coordinate with relevant SERCOM and INFCOM subsidiary bodies and provide advice to the Working Group on Hydrology and Water Resources on the above issues;
(h) To coordinate, as appropriate, with other relevant regional expert teams/groups outside of WMO in order to minimize duplication of work and maximize collaboration.
