Associate Scientific Officer
Lina Rodriguez is an Associate Scientific Officer for the World Weather Research Programme at WMO. Lina is from Colombia and has experience in different realities ranging from universities, the private sector, international organizations, and climate youth associations.
Lina holds a bachelor’s degree in Business and Economics and a MSc in Environmental Sciences, in which she specialized in climate impacts and developed a thesis on local-level adaptation to hydrometeorological extremes. Lina has experience in project management, research development and scientific communication.
Lina’s responsibilities for the WWRP include leading the communication and outreach activities of the programme, supporting the work of the Societal and Economic Research Applications (SERA) Working Group and advancing socio-economic benefit analyses, the WWRP Research Expert Network (CPDB), and the International Coordination Offices (ICOs) for the three core projects. Lina is also the focal point of WWRP for the Young Earth System Scientists community (YESS), with which she develops initiatives involving early career scientists.
