Expert Team on Operational Climate Prediction System

The World Meteorological Congress at its eighteenth session through Resolution 7 (Cg-18) – Establishment of WMO Technical Commissions for the Eighteenth Financial Period, decided to establish, in accordance with Article 8 (g) of the Convention, two technical commissions for the eighteenth financial period: a Commission for Observation, Infrastructure and Information Systems (INFCOM) and a Commission for Weather, Climate, Water and Related Environmental Services and Applications (SERCOM). INFCOM held its first meeting virtually through three parts in 2020 and 2021 and decided priority areas to be addressed during the 2020-2023 inter-sessional period.

In that context, the ET-OCPS under INFCOM/ Standing Committee on Data Processing for Applied Earth System Modelling and Prediction (SC-ESMP) will meet to discuss key priority areas of work for consideration by the INFCOM and possibly make recommendations to be brought forward to the session of the Executive Council in 2022.

The provisional meeting agenda and tentative workplan are shown below. When the documents are ready, they can be accessed by clicking the numbers.
