Training Workshop on Online Hydrology Course Delivery

The WMO Strategy for Education and Training in HWR, adopted by CHy-XIII and endorsed by Cg-XVI, involves the promotion of Distance Learning (DL) activities. This was successfully accomplished in 2009 and 2010 through three DL courses, two basic ones (at the global level and for RA V) and one advanced (for Easter European countries) with a total of more than 140 participants.

In order to increase the frequency of courses delivered and to actively involve the RTCs, it has been decided to hold a Training of Trainers workshop to train interested academic institutions in planning, preparing and delivering DL courses in HWR. The plan would then be to deliver DL courses from 2012 onwards under the main responsibility of the RTcs, with WMO playing a coordinating and supervisory role.
