Martin Wegmann
Background:
Dr Martin Wegmann is a European citizen with a German passport and was educated as a climate scientist with work experience from three different European research institutes in France, Switzerland and Germany. He studied climate processes ranging from daily to decadal, and from regional to hemispheric resolution, always trying to learn from the past to untangle questions of the future.
He published work on climate teleconnections, large-scale climate variability and cryosphere-atmosphere feedbacks combining in-situ, proxy, reanalysis and model data.
Activities at WMO:
He supports the WWRP team in coordination matters for the High impact Weather Project as well as the Polar Prediction Project. Additionally, he is responsible for the implementation of WWRP communication and outreach during the transition period of the WMO restructuring.
