Terms of Reference

1. To support the operational performance of the various WIGOS tools, currently, OSCAR/Surface, WDQMS-Webtool and Incident Management System, especially in regard to the user requirements giving highest priority to GBON and RBON related requirements;

2. To collect and provide requirements to the WIGOS tools for the GBON and RBON monitoring of data and metadata availability and quality, including taking into account technical support requirements to be provided by SOFF.;

3. To collect and provide requirements and advice on the integration of the various WIGOS observing components into the WIGOS tools on users level;

4. To liaise with SC-ESMP/TT-WDQMS and WMO Secretariat on technical matters and future developments of the WIGOS tools;

5. To contribute to the revision and update of the regulatory and guidance material related to the WIGOS tools, including their users’ manuals;

6. To coordinate closely with the WMO Secretariat in relation to the further technical development and implementation of the WIGOS tools, such as for the OSCAR/Surface Next Generation project on new requirements related to OSCAR/Surface and to the WIGOS tools strategy of the next strategic period 2024-2027.
