Fourth Meeting of the Research Board (RB-4)

The Research Board held its fourth meeting virtually over two days, from 7 to 8 July 2022. The meeting was divided into four sessions, including two sessions for regional representatives (to accommodate time zones), one session for invited experts and representatives of INFCOM and SERCOM and one session for the Research Programme chairs. Each session had the same agenda, but smaller groups allowed for more productive and targeted conversations. Agenda items included reviewing relevant EC-75 decisions pertinent to the Research Board, updates on outstanding Research Board action items and activities, and a brainstorming session on the roles and responsibilities of the Research Board. This meeting helped lay the groundwork for the first hybrid meeting in September and included the following decisions:

(1)    to provide joint feedback to the Scientific Advisory Panel on the draft Vision Paper, in collaboration with INFCOM and SERCOM; and

(2)    to initiate a coordinated programme of regional workshops that brings together the Research Board’s Science for Services and Innovation in Regions Concept Notes.
