The Research Board on Weather, Climate, Water and the Environment (Research Board) translates the strategic aims of the WMO and decisions of Executive Council and Congress into overarching research priorities across all elements of the value cycle – from discovery science to serving society.Science and the acceleration of research to application in the fields of weather, climate, water and environment play a key role in addressing the world’s most pressing challenges and providing essential services to society. The Research Board supports the growing scientific and technological capabilities of WMO and its members and strengthens the role of WMO in international agendas that benefit society across the world, including the Paris Agreement, Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction and Sustainable Development Goals.
