Background
In alignment with the World Meteorological Organization's (WMO) strategic plan to better serve societal needs through the delivery of authoritative, accessible, user-oriented and fit-for-purpose information and services, an online platform has been created to facilitate access to actionable knowledge, data, and services for all involved in the energy sector. Through the platform, the user will develop an understanding of diverse topics related to Weather and Climate Services (W&CS) for energy and how they can support risk management and resilience in the energy sector. It furthermore offers the opportunity for engagement and networking with National Meteorological and Hydrological Services (NMHSs), private sector service providers, academic institutions, and other experts globally active in the field of W&CS for energy.
This webinar organized by the WMO Climate and Energy Team aims to launch the WMO Energy and Meteorology Platform, demonstrate its functions, and highlight its importance. Distinguished speakers will contribute to the launch event by presenting the connectivity of their relevant activities.
