Background information
For the record, the First Miniforum was organized to meet the recommendation of the Ninth South West Indian Ocean Climate Outlook Forum (SWIOCOF-9, online, 14-17 September 2020) and the request of end-users. It was in alignment with the outcome of the Technical Meeting “Tropical Cyclone impact estimation for humanitarian preparedness and response: Joining the dots” organized during the 2020 Humanitarian Networks and Partnerships Week (HNPW) by WMO, the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (EC-JRC) and the United Nations Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UN OCHA).
