Overview

The Eleventh Session of the Research Board (RB-11) focused on the RB’s role in delivering the WMO strategic priorities and the implementation of decisions taken by WMO Congress and Executive Council. 

 

Summary of Key Outcomes

  1. the endorsement of four World Weather Research Programme (WWRP) project plans to be recommended to EC for approval;
  2. approval of the Task Team – AI for Weather (TT-AI4Wx) Terms of Reference;
  3. endorsement of the Task Team on Hydrology Research’s (TT-HydroResearch) proposed revisions to the WMO Plan of Action for Hydrology to be recommended to EC by the Hydrology Coordination Panel for approval;
  4. endorsement of the proposed nominations for WCRP JSC membership to be recommended to the WMO SG;
  5. the approval of M. Scholes to serve a second term as Vice-Chair of the RB (VC/RB); and

  6. the approval of Dr Sally Potter to serve a four year appointment on the WWRP Scientific Steering Committee
