Designation process of a DCPC in WIS2

Your organization may need to apply to become a newly designated DCPC before your are eligible to share data on WIS2. Please first consider the below options.

Options to Publish Data in WIS2

  1. As a National Centre (NC):
    • As a WIS National Centre (NC) you can operate your own WIS2 Node and directly publish your datasets. See List of NCs and DCPCs
  2. As a designated Data Collection or Production Centre (DCPC):
    • If your institution has been recognized as a DCPC you can operate your own WIS2 Node and directly publish your datasets. See List of NCs and DCPCs
  3. Through the National Centre of your country:
    • Instead of becoming a WIS Centre yourself, you may request the National Centre of your country to publish your datasets on their WIS2 Node.
  4. Request for a DCPC designation:
    • If your organization is not listed in the Manual on WIS as a DCPC, you will first need to complete the designation process to become an Accredited DCPC (see below)

    • If endorsed, the new DCPC focal point can initiate data transmission on WIS2 by registering the WIS2 Node using the WIS2 Registration form.
    • The DCPC will be considered pre-operational until formal approval is granted.

    • The DCPC is formally approved by INFCOM.
  5. Update of the Manual on WIS:
