Third Hydrological Advisers Forum, RA IV - North America, Central America and the Caribbean

The 3rd Hydrological Advisers Forum of the World Meteorological Organization - Region IV North America, Central America and the Caribbean (WMO RA IV) will be held by videoconference on 26 April 2021. It will be chaired by the Regional Hydrological Adviser of RA IV, Mr Jose Alberto Zuñiga, and will bring together Hydrological Advisers and Permanent Representatives from 20 countries, members of the regional working group in hydrology and staff from the WMO Secretariat.

Taking into account the decisions taken in the 18th session of the RA IV and ongoing restructuring process for WMO Regional Associations, this specific forum will focus on:

  • Having an information session on the Water and Climate Coalition
  • Learning about the process behind the creation of the WMO Action Plan on Hydrology and provide RA IV perspectives to the document
  • Organizing for the Roadmap and Action Plan for Hydrology in the RA IV as a contribution to the Operational Plan of RA IV

  1. Welcome and hydrological outcomes of RA IV 18th Session (J.A. Zuñiga, Regional Hydrological Adviser for RA IV)
  2. Water and Climate Coalition (WCC) + discussion (J. Cullmann, Director Water and Cryosphere, WMO)
  3. WMO Action Plan for hydrology + discussion (J. Danhelka, Chair of the WMO Hydrological Coordination Panel)
  4. Roadmap for Hydrology and Water in the RA IV, the Regional Hydrological Coordination Panel + discussion (J.A. Zuñiga)
  5. Any other issues (including date and possible topics for next forum)
