WMO Risk Management Policy
The WMO Risk Management Policy builds on the Organization’s Standing Instructions, codes, regulations and rules, together with relevant existing policies, in defining the processes to manage the risks facing the Organization. It is focused on the management of risks associated with the Organization’s activities in order to minimize their negative impacts.
WMO Risk Management Framework
The WMO Risk Management Framework presents procedures and arrangements for the implementation and continuous improvement of risk management in the Organization in line with the Risk Management Policy, the mandate of the Organization as defined in the WMO Convention and the results defined in the Strategic Plan. Its core elements include establishing the context, risk appetite, risk assessment (identification, analysis, and evaluation), risk management, information and communication, awareness and training, risk maturity and risk monitoring and review.
