Terms of Reference
ToR for Focal Point for Operational Weather Radars (FP-OWR)
(1) In consultation with data users and relevant Commission for Observation, Infrastructure and Information Systems (INFCOM) subsidiary bodies (i.e. ET-OWR) share at regional level guidance material on operational weather radars, including, the standardization of systems requirements and specifications, quality control, maintenance and operation, data processing algorithms, data products and quality monitoring, weather radar networking and composites, and scanning strategies;
(2) Contribute to development of methods, models and formats for the international exchange of weather radar data and metadata. Develop common strategies, at regional level, for weather radar data processing;
(3) Establish an ad-hoc group to work on regional data policies on radar data sharing;
(4) Undertake and assist in technical training, workshops, promotion and outreach activities on radar data exploitation;
(5) Represent the ad-hoc team area in the meetings of the RA III C-INF, reporting on the activities.
