The 2019 Safety Report of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) was published on 1 April 2020 and is available for download here (registration required).

Through his involvement in IATA's Accident Classification Technical Group (ACTG), Head of WMO's Services for Aviation Division, Greg Brock, directly contributed to the review of the 2019 accidents and the publication of this latest report.

In 2019 the total number of accidents and fatal accidents both declined compared with the previous year (2018) and to the average of the preceding five years (2015-2019).

The 56th edition of the Annual Safety Report (2019) includes further in-depth review of these and other global and regional aviation statistics, including those where adverse weather or other meteorological conditions were a causal factor in aviation incidents and accidents in the such as loss of control in-flight (LOC-I), controlled-flight into terrain (CFIT) and runway excursions.
