Background

The Regional Association for North America, Central America, and the Caribbean (RA IV) tasked its Hydrology and Water Coordination Panel to develop a HydroSOS Regional Implementation Plan for RA IV.

As a result, and given the specific conditions relative to Central America and the Caribbean, two different plans have been drafted: HydroSOS Central America Implementation Plan, which was endorsed at the World Meteorological Congress 19 (Cg-19) in June 2023 and a HydroSOS Caribbean Implementation Plan, which was finalized in the first quarter of 2024.

• Dominican Republic piloted GEOGloWS at the national level. Information about the project is available here.
