ESAC Coordinators and AA PoCs (Hybrid) workshop
Purpose of the Workshop:
- Analyse and address the outcomes of the RRR Engagement online seminar (June 2025) ESAC Atmosphere SoG drafting workshop and ET-EOSDE-3 meeting (December 2024) and develop/plan necessary material and actions towards ensuring completion of the missing Gap analyses, SoGs and of the OSCAR/Requirements update.
- Discuss and progress with finalization of the RRR outreach material and the communication strategy for promoting SoGs benefits and recommendations.
- Brainstorm on the measurement of the impact and success of SoGs.
- Discuss appropriateness of the existing guidance material (Reference Guide, OSCAR/Requirements User Manual) and plan review of key documents, as necessary.
- Encourage regular review of the existing observation requirements and addition of new ones in the OSCAR/Requirements database and population of recently introduced attributes (priorities, layer quality and horizontal coverage quality),
- Identify what is needed for completion of those AA gap analyses that are currently in progress and proposing timelines for completion of the remaining activities (e.g., missing definitions, requirements, Gap analyses, SoGs),
- Exchange information about activities of the WIGOS Vision drafting group and discuss and envisaged evolution of the User requirements as input to the update of the WIGOS vision.
Place and date: EUMETSAT, Darmstadt (Germany), 22-24 September 2025
Information for the participants (Venue, transportation, accommodation, visa) is available here.
