Impact-based forecast and warning services (IBFWS) training workshop, Luang Prabang, Lao PDR
The CREWS Cambodia and Lao PDR Project is organizing a training workshop on Impact-Based Forecast and Warning Services (IBFWS) from November 11-14, 2024, in Luang Prabang, Lao PDR. Jointly organized by the World Bank and WMO, the workshop aims to build capacity for IBFWS, focusing on co-production between the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH) and key user sectors, such as disaster management, agriculture, and social welfare. Through interactive sessions, participants will learn IBFWS fundamentals and start developing impact tables, with the goal of initiating pilot projects to enhance early warning systems in Lao PDR.
