WMO-GEIDCO-NCC/CMA co-organize thematic session: Energy Meteorology Synergy Development

The year 2023 marks the eighth anniversary of Global Energy Interconnection (GEI) initiative and the second anniversary of the Global Development Initiative (GDI). 2023 is also the year for mid-term stocktaking of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, a milestone year for the implementation of the Paris Agreement, and a crucial year for accelerating energy transition.
With a focus on the development of GEI and new energy system, the Global Energy Interconnection Development and Cooperation Organization (GEIDCO) holds the 2023 Global Energy Interconnection Conference aims to pool global wisdom, seek common development, discuss key issues and propose solutions for world energy, climate, environment, sustainable development and biodiversity protection, to further contribute to the advancement of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Paris Agreement.
WMO, together with GEIDCO and China Meteorological Administration National Climate Centre (NCC/CMA) co-organize the thematic session "Energy Meteorology Synergy Development", to create a dynamic and interactive platform for the exchange of knowledge and experiences between the energy and meteorology communities on the topics of the carbon neutrality of the energy and power sectors, weather and climate services, energy-meteorology synergy development, etc. Agenda can be found below.
