ClimSA's goal was to improve the production, access to, and use of climate information, services, and applications for decision makers in key sectors such as agriculture, disaster risk reduction, energy, health, and water.
The project focused on:
- Ensuring structured interaction between users, researchers and climate service providers through User Interface Platforms.
- Strengthening Climate Service Information Systems (CSIS), and regional and national capacities to provide climate services.
- Strengthening observing networks, research, modelling and prediction.
- Promote climate-informed decision-making, tailored climate information and products.
Governance
While implemented in ten focus countries - Angola, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Comoroes, Jamaica, Kenya, Madagascar, Mauritius, Samoa, and Seychelles - the project involved eight Regional Climate Centers (RCCs) and contributed to positive developments across ACP regions by promoting data sharing, reinforcing regional climate service frameworks, and enabling collaborative initiatives and user engagement mechanisms.
This web space remains under continuous development and is being expanded with the support of all contributing partners and stakeholders to document, preserve, and disseminate the legacy of the ClimSA Programme.
