Guide to the WMO Information System (WMO-No. 1061), Volume II - WMO Information System 2.0

The guide contains additional information concerning practices, procedures, and specifications that Members are invited to follow or implement in establishing and conducting their arrangements in compliance with the WMO Technical Regulations and in developing meteorological and hydrological services.

INFCOM-3 approved the decision to split the Guide to WIS into two volumes.

The FT2026-1 amendments are available for comment by National Focal Points on WIS Matters until 8 June 2026.

• FT2026-1 amendments 
• FT2025-2 amendments (final draft)- includes revisions to WIS2 Topic Hierarchy, Notification Message, Discovery metadata specifications and the WIS2 Guide.  (Approved January 2026)
• FT2024-2 amendments include revisions for wis2nodes, global brokers, global caches, and global discovery catalogs (Approved November 2024)
