Past event

The RA VI RCC Network Coordination Team discussed key priorities for the RA VI RCC network, including that:

  • DWD’s package for Climate Watch Advisories transition will be shared with the RA VI RCC Network Coordination Team and RA VI Climate Monitoring Node to explore options for maintaining regional and sub-regional advisories.
  • Coordination of the RCC actions related to HydroSOS will be through the Working Group on Services and Applications to avoid duplication.
  • Preparations continued for the RA VI-19 (II) session and the draft resolution on RA VI RCC Network Operations, with a Member State pre-briefing planned for mid September.
  • Nodes reported progress on RCC roadmap implementation with activities on seasonal, sub-seasonal and decadal forecasting, climate monitoring, data integration and drought monitoring. Possible future nodes and Regional Climate Forums were also discussed.
  • The Team identified opportunities to strengthen Copernicus & EUMETNET cooperation and collaboration on extreme-event monitoring, climate products, data access and tools for RCC members.
  • The third edition of the Services & Applications Toolkit is being developed with a stronger focus on the practical use of climate information, seasonal forecasts and applications.

The Team agreed to have its next meeting in the afternoon of 9 September 2026.
