The WMO Secretary-General has today issued an announcement and call for abstracts for the Eighth International Workshop on Volcanic Ash (IWVA-8), to be convened as an in-person only event in Rotorua, New Zealand on 4 and 5 February 2023.

Note that the deadline for submission of short abstracts for IWVA-8 is 16 November 2022, while the deadline to register to attend IWVA-8 is 13 January 2023. Details on where to submit short abstracts and how to register can be found here and here respectively. 

Also note that IWVA-8 will be preceded by an International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics (IUGG) International Association of Volcanology and Chemistry of the Earth's Interior (IAVCEI) Scientific Assembly (more information here).
