Eleventh Meeting of the SERCOM/SC-DRR Advisory Group on Severe Weather Forecasting (AG-SWF-11) (Ha Noi, 21-24 September 2026) (2nd in-person meeting)

The Eleventh Meeting of the SERCOM/SC-DRR Advisory Group on Severe Weather Forecasting (but 2nd in-person meeting) will be held in Ha Noi during 21-24 September 2026.

The advisory group will review the progress of SWFP regional subprogrammes and the relevant RSMCs SWF and Regional Forecast Support Centres (RFSCs)/Regional Forecast Support Facility (RFSF) (not yet RSMC SWF) & their SWFP web portals and regional severe weather forecasting (SWF) guidance products and services. The group will also review the relevant technical regulations and the status of RSMCs SWF Compliance review report submitted to INFCOM/SC-WIPPS. 

The meeting will review updates from RSMCs SWF on their current status of compliance and will also discuss and and agree on the strategy to initiate compliance review of RFSCs/RFSF in addition to considering business continuity management (BCM) approaches within SWFP regional subprogrammes to sustain regional SWF guidance services in various subregions in collaboration with the relevant Members/RSMCs/RFSCs/RFSF as feasible .
